Bright Home Club

Membership terms & conditions

Effective: 25 July 2026  ·  Version: 2.0  ·  Supersedes: v1.0
Wieser Electric Ltd., Licensed Electrical Contractor, ECRA/ESA 7009467

The whole thing in eight lines

The formal version is below. This is the same thing in plain English, and if the two ever disagree, tell us — we'll fix the formal one.

  • $20 a month, billed monthly. Our first 50 members pay $10 a month for their first 24 months, then move to $20. We'll write to you two months before that happens.
  • Cancel any time, no penalty, no notice period beyond 3 business days before your next billing date.
  • You get one safety assessment a year and two diagnostic visits with the fee waived.
  • 10% off our published flat rates. Those rates include material, so the discount comes off the whole line.
  • Equipment is the exception — serialized hardware quoted on its own line, like a charging unit, a home battery or a GenerLink. We don't mark that up enough to discount it.
  • On jobs of $1,000 or more, the 10% starts after you've been a member 90 days.
  • Work done while you're a member carries a 5-year workmanship warranty instead of our standard 2.
  • $25 credit for every household you refer who joins.

One membership, one home you own, inside our service area.

1. What the membership is Overview

The Bright Home Club is a residential electrical service membership offered by Wieser Electric Ltd. ("Wieser Electric", "we", "us"). It is a monthly subscription that continues until you cancel it.

Membership is not insurance, a warranty on your home's existing electrical system, or a service contract obliging us to perform work at no charge. It is a set of defined benefits, listed in section 6, in exchange for a monthly fee.

2. Definitions Words we use precisely

  • Membership year — each 12-month period beginning on the date you enrol, and each anniversary of that date.
  • Founding member — one of the first 50 memberships enrolled under the founding rate described in section 5.
  • Published flat rate — a price for a defined piece of work as published on our website or quoted to you in writing.
  • Material — the parts consumed by a job: wire, cable, boxes, conduit, fittings, breakers, panels, bath fans, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, surge protective devices, and similar. Material is included within our published flat rates.
  • Equipment — serialized hardware supplied by us and quoted as its own separate line: EV charging units, home batteries, GenerLink units, and similar. Equipment is not included within a flat rate and is priced separately.
  • Service area — the coverage area published on our website, which may change from time to time.

3. Eligibility Who can join

  • One membership covers one residential property that you own, located within our service area.
  • Additional properties — a rental, a cottage, a second home — require their own memberships.
  • Tenants are not eligible, because the assessment and the extended warranty attach to work on a property owned by the member. We're happy to speak with your landlord directly.
  • Membership does not cover commercial or industrial premises.

4. Fees and billing How you pay

  • Membership is billed monthly to a payment method you keep on file, automatically recurring until cancelled.
  • There is no annual prepay option and no lump sum at any point.
  • Fees are non-refundable once billed. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund months already paid.
  • If a payment is declined, we will contact you before anything changes. If it remains unresolved, membership benefits may be suspended until it is. Suspended benefits resume once payment is brought current; the suspension period does not extend your membership year.
  • All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes.

5. The rate, and what happens in month 25 Founding members

WhoRateTerm
Founding members (first 50)$10 / monthMonths 1–24 from your enrolment date
Founding members$20 / monthMonth 25 onward
All other members$20 / monthFrom enrolment
  • The founding rate is limited to the first 50 memberships and is offered to existing Wieser Electric customers first.
  • A founding member's $10 rate is fixed for the full 24 months and will not change during that period, even if the standard rate changes.
  • We will write to you approximately two months before month 25 to remind you the founding rate is ending and confirm what it becomes. You may cancel at that point, or at any other point, with no penalty.
  • Benefits are identical at both rates. Nothing is withheld from founding members, and nothing is added for standard members.
If you cancel and later rejoin, you rejoin at the rate in effect at that time. The founding rate is not reinstated.

6. What's included Benefits

6.1 Annual electrical safety assessment

One electrical safety assessment per membership year, carried out by a licensed electrician, covering the panel, grounding and bonding, wiring era and devices, with a written report provided to you.

The assessment must be scheduled by you and is subject to our availability. Assessments not used within a membership year do not carry over.

6.2 Two diagnostic fees waived each year

Two diagnostic visit fees are waived per membership year, applied to standard residential diagnostic visits during our booking hours (currently Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm). Further diagnostic visits within the same membership year are charged at the published rate.

The waiver applies to the diagnostic fee only. Any repair work identified is quoted and approved separately.

6.3 10% member discount

10% off our published flat rates for residential work, including EV charger installation. Because our flat rates include material, the discount applies to the whole line.

The discount does not apply to:

  • Equipment, as defined in section 2. Where equipment is quoted as its own line — as on an EV charger installation — the discount applies in full to the installation line beside it. Where a published price bundles equipment and installation into a single figure, such as GenerLink supply and install, the discount does not apply to that line.
  • Emergency call-out fees.
  • Commercial or industrial work.
  • Third-party charges, permit fees billed at cost, or work carried out by others.

Member discounts cannot be combined with other promotions or offers unless we agree in writing. See section 7 for the condition that applies to larger jobs.

6.4 Priority booking

Members are scheduled ahead of non-members where our schedule allows. Priority booking is subject to our availability, our service area, and the nature of the work. It is not a guaranteed response time.

6.5 Five-year workmanship warranty

Work carried out by us while your membership is active carries a five-year workmanship warranty, in place of our standard two years.

The extension applies for as long as the membership remains active. If the membership ends, the standard two-year workmanship warranty on completed work continues unaffected; the extension from two years to five does not. Manufacturer terms apply separately to equipment and material we supply.

6.6 Referral credit

$25 credit for each referred household that enrols in the Bright Home Club, applied to your account and usable against future work. There is no limit on the number of referrals. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and expire if the membership is cancelled.

7. The 90-day condition Larger jobs

The 10% member discount applies immediately to work priced under $1,000.

On work priced at $1,000 or more, the discount applies after 90 days of continuous membership. Membership must be active both when the work is quoted and when the work is carried out.

Why this exists. A member once joined, took 10% off a panel upgrade the same week, and cancelled the following month. On that single job the discount was worth more than three years of membership. We would rather add one clear condition than write a policy that treats every member as a suspect.

8. What's not covered Exclusions

  • Emergency call-outs are not discounted. The residential emergency call-out fee is the same for members and non-members.
  • Equipment is not discounted, as set out in section 6.3.
  • Commercial and industrial work is outside the membership entirely.
  • The membership does not pay for repairs. It provides the benefits listed in section 6 and nothing further. It is not insurance and does not cover damage, loss, or the cost of work.
  • Pre-existing conditions in your home's electrical system are not covered or remedied by membership.
  • Work performed by others is not covered by our warranty, extended or otherwise.

9. Cancelling Leaving the Club

  • You may cancel at any time, with no penalty and no cancellation fee, by telephone or email.
  • Please give us at least 3 business days' notice before your next billing date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month.
  • There is no clawback of discounts, waived fees, or credits you have already received.
  • The five-year warranty extension ends with the membership. Your standard two-year workmanship warranty on completed work is unaffected.
  • Unused referral credits are forfeited on cancellation.
  • We may cancel a membership on 30 days' written notice, or immediately for non-payment or abusive conduct. If we cancel without cause, we'll refund any unused portion of the month.

10. Transfers Moving house

Membership is tied to one property and one account holder. It does not transfer to a new owner if you sell the property. You may move your membership to a new address within our service area at your existing rate, including the founding rate for its remaining term, by telling us in writing.

11. Changes to these terms Notice

We may change these terms, the benefits, or the standard rate. We will give you at least 30 days' written notice before any change takes effect, by email to the address on your account and by posting the updated terms on our website.

A founding member's $10 rate is fixed for the full 24 months regardless of any change to the standard rate. If you don't accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect at no cost.

12. General Legal

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.
  • All work is performed under ECRA/ESA licence 7009467 and to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • All prices and fees stated here are exclusive of applicable taxes.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
  • These terms, together with any written quote or agreement for specific work, form the whole agreement between us regarding the membership.
