Responsibilities
As a Licensed 309A Electrician at Wieser Electric, you’ll help deliver safe, reliable electrical services to residential and commercial customers throughout our local service area.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems.
- Completing electrical panel upgrades, service work, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnosing electrical issues and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Following applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Communicating professionally with customers and fellow team members.
- Maintaining quality workmanship and a safe, organized work environment.
- Participating in the scheduled on-call rotation as required.
Requirements
We’re looking for a qualified electrician who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety, and can work independently while contributing to a team.
To be considered, you must have:
- A valid Ontario 309A electrician license.
- Experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to electrical safety, code compliance, and quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
Part-Time Schedule and On-Call Rotation
Let’s be upfront about the schedule.
We won’t pretend every day ends at 3:30. Some panel upgrades run late, and you’ll take your turn providing on-call coverage. The difference is that your time is compensated fairly.
Here’s how on-call pay works:
- You receive one hour of pay for each evening you’re scheduled to be on call, even if nobody calls.
- If you’re called out, you receive a three-hour minimum at time and a half, paid door to door.
- You’ll work within our local service area between Belleville and Brockville, Ontario.
- There are no camps or hotel stays. You return home at the end of your shift.
We’re looking for someone who understands that electrical service work sometimes requires flexibility and who appreciates a local role with transparent on-call compensation.
The specific work schedule and on-call rotation will be discussed during the hiring process.
