Kingston's Trusted EV Charger & Electrical Service Provider

Bright Home Club · For our existing customers first

We're opening the Club. Fifty seats.

You've already had us in your house, so you know how we work. The Bright Home Club is for people who'd rather look after their electrical system than wait for it to go wrong — and our first fifty members are coming from customers we've already worked for. Here's what it includes, what it's worth, and the two conditions attached.

Founding member · First 50

$10 / month

2 yearsLocked at $10/month for 24 months from the day you join. $120 a year.

Same membership, half the price, for backing us early. Nothing is held back from founding members.

  • Every benefit listed below
  • Rate held for 24 full months
  • Cancel any time, no penalty

Standard rate · Member 51 onward

$20 / month

OngoingWhat the membership costs once the founding fifty are gone. $240 a year.

This is the real price, and it's what founding members move to in month 25. We're telling you that now rather than in a letter later.

  • Identical benefits
  • Billed monthly, no annual lump
  • Cancel any time, no penalty

We update this by hand as seats go. It's not a countdown widget designed to panic you — when it's down to the last ten, we'll say so.

01 — The membership

What's included

Six things. No tiers, no upsells inside the membership, nothing that only applies on a Tuesday.

Bright Home Club — every member, every benefit
No.
Benefit
Value
01
Annual electrical safety assessmentA licensed electrician walks your panel, grounding, bonding, wiring era and devices, and leaves you a written stoplight report. Once a year, every year you're a member.
$300
02
Two diagnostics waived a yearWhen something stops working and needs finding, the $150 diagnostic is $0 — twice per membership year. If you're using both, something bigger is going on and we should talk about that instead.
$300/yr
03
10% off our workOff our published flat rates, across the board — panels, EV charger installs, hot tubs, bath fans, repairs, all of it. Those rates include material, so the discount comes off the whole line. Equipment is the one exclusion; see below. One condition on larger jobs, in section 04.
10%
04
Priority bookingMembers go ahead of the general queue. It doesn't make us teleport, but when the schedule is full, you're the one we fit in.
Front of queue
05
Five-year workmanship warrantyEveryone gets two years. Work carried out while you're a member carries five, for as long as the membership stays active.
5 years
06
$25 referral creditEvery household you send us who joins the Club puts $25 toward your next job. No cap.
$25 each
Everything above is available from day one except the 10% on jobs over $1,000, which starts at day 90. Section 04 explains why, honestly. The discount is on our work, not on equipment. Our rule of thumb: if it has a serial number on it, it's equipment.
02 — The maths

What it's actually worth

We'd rather show you the arithmetic than tell you it's great value. Here's a normal year for a member who uses the membership twice — once for the assessment, once because something stopped working.

What you usedRetail
Annual safety assessment$300
One waived diagnostic (two included)$150
10% off one $900 repair$90
Value used$540
Founding member cost$120
Standard member cost$240
And the honest other side of it. If nothing goes wrong in your house this year and you skip the assessment, you'll have paid $120 for nothing. That's true of every membership ever sold and we're not going to pretend otherwise. The way to make sure that doesn't happen is simple: book the assessment. It's the part most people forget and it's the part worth the most.

We'll remind you when it's due. That's not a marketing sequence dressed up as a service — an electrical system that gets looked at once a year is a genuinely different risk than one that gets looked at when the lights start flickering.

03 — The founding rate

What happens in month 25

Your rate goes from $10 to $20. We're putting that on the page rather than in a letter two years from now, because a surprise price increase is exactly the sort of thing we built our pricing page to avoid.

Day 1
You join at $10/monthEvery benefit is live except the 10% on jobs over $1,000.
Day 90
Full discount unlocksThe 10% now applies to everything, including panels and EV chargers.
Month 12
Nothing changesNo renewal, no re-signing, no annual lump sum. Your rate is still $10.
Month 23
We write to youTwo months' notice, in plain language, reminding you the founding rate ends and what it moves to.
Month 25
$20/monthThe standard rate. Same benefits. Cancel then if you'd rather — no penalty, no phone call required.
Why not just charge $20 from the start? Because the first fifty people take a risk the fifty-first doesn't. You're joining something with no track record on our word alone. The founding rate is what that's worth to us, and two years is long enough for you to find out whether we were right.
04 — The one condition

The 90-day rule, and why it exists

The 10% member discount applies immediately to everything under $1,000. On jobs over $1,000 — a panel, an EV charger, a hot tub circuit — it applies after you've been a member for 90 days.

We learned this one the hard way. Somebody joined the Club, took 10% off a panel upgrade the same week, and cancelled the next month. On that one job the discount was worth more than three years of membership. We'd rather add one honest sentence to the terms than write a policy that treats every member like a suspect.

So that's the whole rule. Ninety days, and only on the big stuff. If you're reading this because you've got a panel that needs doing right now, join today and book it for three months out, or don't join and pay the published price — either is fine and we'll tell you which is cheaper.

Everything else — the waived diagnostic, priority booking, the assessment, the discount on smaller work — is yours the day you sign up.

05 — Leaving

Cancel any time, and we mean any time

Email or phone. No retention call, no three-month notice period, no form buried four clicks deep. It stops at the end of the month you're in and we don't bill you again.

Two honest consequences, so nothing is a surprise:

  • The five-year warranty drops back to two. Our standard two-year workmanship warranty on anything we've already done stays exactly as it is — that's yours regardless. It's the extension from two years to five that's tied to being a member.
  • The founding rate doesn't come back. If you cancel and rejoin later, you rejoin at whatever the rate is then. We're not going to hold a seat open indefinitely for fifty people who left.

There's no cancellation fee, no clawback on discounts you've already had, and nothing owing.

06 — Exclusions

What the membership doesn't cover

Short list, and we'd rather you read it now than find out at the worst moment.

  • Emergency call-outs are not discounted. The $375 residential call-out is the same for members. We don't make money on those as it is — our pricing page explains exactly why — so there's nothing there to discount.
  • Equipment isn't discounted — but material is. Our flat rates already include the materials that go into a job: wire, boxes, breakers, a bath fan, a smoke alarm, a surge device. Your 10% comes off that whole price. Equipment is different — serialized hardware we quote on its own line, like an EV charger, a home battery or a GenerLink. We don't mark that up enough to discount it, and we'd rather say so than quietly inflate the price to make a discount look good. On an EV charger install you'll see two lines: the unit, and our installation. The 10% comes off our installation.
  • It isn't insurance. If a storm takes your service off the wall, the membership doesn't pay for the repair. It gets you to the front of the queue and 10% off our work, and we'll do the insurance paperwork with you.
  • It doesn't cover a second property. One membership, one address. If you've got a rental or a cottage, that's a second membership.
  • Business-hours work only. Waived diagnostics apply to standard residential visits during our booking hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Why we won't just discount the hardware

Any contractor can offer 10% off everything if they've built 15% into the price first. We'd rather publish what things cost and be straight about where our margin is: it's in our work, not in reselling a charger to you. So the discount is on our work, and the hardware is the hardware.

07 — Should you join?

Reasons people think they shouldn't

Most of the hesitation we hear isn't really a reason. Here are the four that come up, answered straight.

  • "My house is new." Good — that's the best time to start. New builds have their own list: things the inspection missed, a basement that'll get finished, a renovation coming, and an EV in the driveway sooner than you think. A system with a record going back to year one is worth more than one nobody looked at until year twenty.
  • "You've just done all my work." Then you've got a system worth keeping an eye on and a warranty worth carrying from two years to five. The membership is doing the most for you right now, not the least.
  • "Nothing's wrong at the moment." That's exactly when to join. The 90-day rule in section 04 means joining before you need something is how the membership actually pays — and if nothing goes wrong, book the assessment and you're still ahead.
  • "I'm not sure I'd use it." The annual assessment alone is $300 and takes one appointment a year. If you use nothing else, that's the whole thing covered twice over at the founding rate.

The genuinely short list

Three situations where we'd tell you not to bother:

  • You rent. The assessment and the warranty attach to work on a property you own. Talk to your landlord instead — we're happy to deal with them directly, and a membership in their name may well make sense.
  • You're outside our service area. Priority booking doesn't help much if we can't get to you. Check the coverage section of our pricing page first.
  • You were planning to join, take the discount on a big job, and go. The 90-day rule exists precisely for this, so it won't work — and honestly, you're better off paying the published price and keeping it simple.

Otherwise: if you own your home and we can get to it, join. Old house, new house, big list of work or none at all — it's never the wrong time, and at $10 for two years it isn't a close call.

08 — The fine print, in plain English

Full membership terms

Nothing here should surprise you if you've read the sections above.

Eligibility

One membership per residential property, in our service area, owned by the member. Founding rate is limited to the first 50 memberships and is offered to existing Wieser Electric customers first.

Billing

Billed monthly to a card on file. Founding members are billed $10 per month for 24 months from the date of joining. From month 25 the rate is the standard rate, currently $20 per month. We'll write to you two months before that change. There is no annual prepay option and no lump sum at any point. Fees are non-refundable once billed. A declined payment may suspend benefits until it's resolved — we'll call you before that happens, not after.

Benefits

  • One electrical safety assessment per membership year, on request, scheduled by you. Unused assessments don't roll over.
  • Two diagnostic visit fees waived per membership year, on standard residential visits during booking hours. Further diagnostics in the same year are charged at the published rate.
  • 10% off our published flat rates for labour and installation, including EV charger installations. Discounts do not apply to equipment, to emergency call-outs, or to commercial work.
  • Priority booking ahead of non-members, subject to our schedule and service area.
  • Five-year workmanship warranty on work carried out while the membership is active, in place of our standard two years. The extension holds for as long as the membership remains active.
  • $25 referral credit for each referred household that joins the Club, applied to your next invoice. No limit on the number of referrals.

What counts as equipment

Material means the parts consumed by a job — wire, cable, boxes, conduit, fittings, breakers, panels, bath fans, smoke and CO alarms, surge devices. Material is included in our published flat rates, and the member discount applies to those rates in full.

Equipment means serialized hardware quoted as its own separate line — EV charging units, home batteries, GenerLink units and similar. Member discounts do not apply to equipment. Where equipment is quoted separately, as on an EV charger installation, the discount applies in full to the installation line beside it. Where a published price bundles equipment and installation into one figure, such as GenerLink supply and install, the discount does not apply to that line.

Discounts and promotions

Member discounts can't be combined with other promotions unless we agree in writing.

The 90-day condition

The 10% discount applies immediately to work priced under $1,000. On work priced at $1,000 or more, it applies after 90 days of continuous membership. Membership must be active both when the work is quoted and when it is carried out.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time by phone or email, at least 3 business days before your next billing date, effective at the end of the current billing month. No penalty, no notice period, and no repayment of discounts already received. The five-year extension ends with the membership; the standard two-year workmanship warranty on completed work is unaffected. Rejoining after cancellation is at the rate in effect at that time — the founding rate is not reinstated.

Transfers

Membership is tied to one property and one account holder. If you sell the house, the membership doesn't transfer with it, but you're welcome to move it to your new address if it's in our service area.

Changes

If we change the benefits or the standard rate, we'll write to you at least 30 days beforehand. Founding members' $10 rate is fixed for the full 24 months regardless.
